Joseph had been given the ability to interpret dreams. His older 10 brothers were jealous of him and laughed at this gift. Their father loved Joseph very much, and he gave his son a beautiful multi-colored coat. This made Joseph's brothers even more jealous. One day, the brothers sold Joseph as a slave to a group of people heading to Egypt. His brothers lied to their father and said that wild animals had killed Joseph. In Egypt, Joseph was thrown into prison, but news of his gift spread. Later, he would interpret the Pharaoh’s dreams. For this he was placed in great esteem in the court. His prestigious position helped save his entire family from starvation during difficult times. Joseph forgave his brothers and thanked God for placing him in a position to be able to help them.
