His father was King David and his mother was Bathsheba. He was only about 20 years old when he was crowned king. Upon taking the throne, Solomon made sacrifices and prayed to the Lord. This pleased God very much so He appeared to Solomon in a dream. God said, Ask for whatever you want me to give you. One day, the brothers sold Joseph as a slave to a group of people heading to Egypt. His brothers lied to their father and said that wild animals had killed Joseph. In Egypt, Joseph was thrown into prison, but news of his gift spread. Later, he would interpret the Pharaoh’s dreams. For this he was placed in great esteem in the court.
